Epilogue
When we first started making Dankswap, we were no more than two young crazy developers who tought “Why not?” and made it in a week more as a hobby than a profession.
I’m one of the devs, and if you had the chance to talk to me on Telegram one of the words I used most was “overwhelmed”, I think this word expresses how I was feeling after the enormous response we had when we started publishing on social media.
We did not anticipate what was about to happen, and now we reckon we owe an explanation to everyone who followed our platform.
A little after we launched we realised what a gargantuan amount of work was required to closely follow and manage Dankswap and we found ourselves very loaded with responsibility: at a certain point Dankswap managed 4 million $ in TVL and we had to focus on keeping those funds safe. We were very busy between managing Dankswap and our regular day jobs, as we are both employed full-time in a regular 9-to-5 day job.
I personally found myself this was too much to handle already, and when one of our possible partners, Foodefi, exit-scammed after their 50k$-worth pre-sale, I felt that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Both devs received death threats over something we had no control or fault about.
On February 25, I decided I didn’t want to keep working on Dankswap, and the other dev followed my same decision shortly after.
With no developers left to keep the platform interesting with marketing and new features, it clearly faded away naturally.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who used it and we are sorry if you expected more from us.
We would also like to answer some easy accusers and point out that no malicious action was ever taken from the developers. We did not steal anything, ever, and the blockchain proves it.
WE ARE VERY SORRY WE DID NOT LIVE UP TO THE GIGANTIC EXPECTATIONS MANY OF YOU HAD
At this point in time, there is nothing much to go back to, so we decided to close Dankswap including the website, Twitter and Telegram.
The website in particular will remain online for another two weeks, until May 21, to allow anyone who wishes to easily withdraw their liquidity staked in farms.
If you have any more inquiries, or just wanna share your thoughts, you can write to us at dankswap@dankswap.finance but please bear in mind that false accusations and threats will not be tolerated and legally prosecuted.
